A four-year-old boy decided to take his recently divorced
mother out on a date, paying for the entire thing with his own money.
When the meal was finished, they received an unexpected note on their
bill from the waitress.
Four-years-old Max Schofield is already melting the hearts
of women in England and across the Internet. Not only had he made his
own decision to take his recently divorced mother, Emma, out on a
Valentines Day date, but he wanted to pay for it with his own money.
It all began when Max and his mother were out grocery
shopping and the young romantic told his mother to “close her eyes.”
After peeking to see what he was up to, she was touched to see that her
son had picked a valentines card and a small teddy bear in a gift bag to
give to her for Valentine’s Day. “My eyes welled up as we continued to
shop,” Emma explained, according to Daily Mail.
However, that was only the beginning of Max’s plans for his
mother. The next day, he decided to treat his mother to lunch at Pizza
Express. Knowing that it was his mother’s first Valentine’s Day alone,
he didn’t want her to feel lonely.
“I have always brought my son up to be thoughtful, kind, caring and
appreciate even the smallest gestures,” explained Emma, according to The Sun.
“Today he took me to Pizza Express (of course I was the designated
chauffeur) and wanted to treat me to a special meal. He also brought his
jar of pennies with him. After a delicious three course meal, we went
to pay. We were greeted with a waitress in tears who had watched our
special dinner date.”
What the tearful waitress did next, Max or Emma could have
never expected. A handwritten message on their receipt said, “This one’s
our treat, love Pizza Express.” The staff had been so touched by the
young boy’s gesture, they had decided to give the pair their meal for
free.
“This extremely kind gesture left me crying with happiness and holding onto my son with pure joy!” the mother expressed.
