Leftists love feminism, but they also love the “peaceful” religion of Islam. Although the right has long warned that the two don’t mix, it seems the liberals didn’t want to listen. However, now that a controversial sign has emerged on one of the coffee house’s doors, the facts are slapping them in the face. It’s quite the amusing conundrum, really.
Starbucks is of course defending itself after an image of a controversial sign posted on one of its stores went viral, but it’s really going to be hard for leftists to take a stand on this one, even with their best liberal logic.
Taped to the door, a note warns female customers not to enter. Instead, they are instructed to send their male drivers to order for them.
Appearing on the door of a Riyadh outlet of the coffee chain in Saudi Arabia, the simple message is forcing liberals to face some facts about two of their beloved special interest groups — feminists and Muslims. In Saudi Arabia, primarily governed by Islamic or Sharia law, women have drivers because they are not legally permitted to drive. Therefore, the store wants to keep women out, insisting their male chaperone order for them instead.Imagine a place where you can't:— Karen (@Karen_LB4) February 4, 2016

The backlash over the sign was sparked by a young woman from Lebanon, who tweeted the image of the sign, along with the message, “Imagine a place where you can’t: 1) Drive yourself to a coffee shop 2) Order your own coffee,” News.com.au reports.
Starbucks attempted to address the issue on Monday, but it was too late, as feminists from around the world were rallying outside stores and doing what liberals do best — calling for a boycott. Apparently, Starbucks’ response doesn’t sit well with them, which says in part:
At Starbucks, we adhere to the local customs of Saudi Arabia by providing separate entrances for families as well as single people. In addition, all our stores provide equal amenities, service, menu, and seating to men, women and families.Ironically, maybe the feminists were too little, too late in their attempt to frown upon the practice. As pointed out in Starbucks’ own statement above, it’s long been the policy of the 78 Starbucks stores in Saudi Arabia to have gender walls to separate single men from the evil potential temptresses — which, according to Islam, is any woman.
We are working as quickly as possible as we refurbish our Jarir store so that we may again welcome all customers in accordance with local customs.
…
We have worked with local authorities to obtain approval to refurbish one of our stores in Jarir, which was originally built without a gender wall. That meant it could only accommodate men in accordance with local law.
This was the only such Starbucks store in Saudi Arabia. During construction, the store could only accommodate and serve single men, and a poster was placed at the store entrance as required by local law.
We are pleased to share that the store is now accessible to single men on one side as well as women and families on the other side.
Oddly, the area reserved for women is also where the children belong. Could it be they are temptresses too? Muslims are called to follow in the footsteps of Islam’s perfect man, who had sex with children as young as 9 years old.
Basically, if leftists and their feminists cohorts were paying attention, this is the kind of discriminatory treatment promoted by their favorite religion that the right has warned them about. It has been documented by Human Rights Watch, including the case of two women arrested and detained for 73 days after illegally driving to the United Arab Emirates-Saudi Arabia border in 2014, News.com.au further reports.
I guess liberals don’t care until it interferes with
someone’s latte. They didn’t seem to care that Saudi women are forbidden
from holding a passport, marrying, travelling, or accessing higher
education without the approval of a male guardian. But forbidden them
from getting their overpriced cup of joe, well, that’s a leftist no-no.
I guess we can thank Starbucks for drawing some much-needed
attention to the issues. It’s just a damn shame that it’s a cup of
coffee that will get their panties in a bunch, and not the oppression
and discrimination women have suffered under Islam for 1400 years.
