Kevin De Bruyne will be sidelined for up
to six weeks after the Manchester City star suffered knee ligament
damage in Thursday’s League Cup win against Fulham.
De Bruyne limped off in the closing minutes of City’s 2-0 victory at the
Etihad Stadium after falling awkwardly in a clash with Timothy
Fosu-Mensah.
The 27-year-old had scans on Friday that revealed the left knee injury
is serious enough that he is unlikely to be back in action until
mid-December, although he does not require surgery.
De Bruyne only recently returned from another knee problem that forced
him to miss two months this season, limiting the Belgium international
to five appearances.
His absence during a busy period is a major blow for Premier League
leaders City, who face crucial Champions League fixtures, the Manchester
derby and a trip to Chelsea before De Bruyne is likely to be fit.
“Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne suffered knee ligament
damage in his left knee during Thursday night’s Carabao Cup fourth-round
win over Fulham,” a statement on City’s website said.
“The Belgian underwent scans on Friday at the CFA. No surgery is needed but he is expected to be out for between 5-6 week
Armed police hunting a robber have stopped and searched a bus in central Wellington this morning.
Police were deployed after the reported robbery of a person on the street in Berhampore shortly after 7am.
Initial reports suggested a weapon was used in the alleged crime, although police said the victim was not hurt in the incident.
Armed officers entered the bus after receiving a tip-off that a
potentially-armed person of interest was seen to enter the bus at
Adelaide Rd.
Police then stopped and entered the vehicle at Kent Terrace.
No one was arrested, and the bus was allowed to continue on its journey.
"Police spoke to a specific individual on the bus and established they
were not the person being sought," a police statement said.
"Staff took time to explain to the passengers and the driver why the bus
had been stopped, and they able to continue their journey shortly
after."
As President Barack Obama continues to support the thuggish
motives of the #blacklivesmatter movement, it seems that police – as
well as many other Americans – are becoming fed up with his rhetoric. In
fact, sick and tired cops just took a major stab at Obama over the
matter, and rumor has it, what they did was so effective that Obama is
literally pissed off about it.
With 85 officers having been killed
in 2015 thus far, it is no wonder so many people are up in arms as
Obama has sided with punk criminals over the brave men and women who
voluntarily put their lives on the line every day to serve and protect.
However, as Obama was in Boston yesterday for his Labor Day speech, it
seems things didn’t exactly go according to plan.
Normally, there is a great many attendees with police even
meeting the president at the end of the event – but not this time.
According to reports, the Boston Police Union decided to give Obama the
cold shoulder as they announced that they would be boycotting the event as the president’s “horror show” persists.
According to Jerry Flynn, the executive director of the New England Police Benevolent Association, via The Boston Herald:
Our members are enraged at his lack of support of law enforcement.
It’s clear that he has an agenda, and unfortunately the police are not
part of his agenda.
Let’s face it, (there have been) eight people killed in a nine-day
period, eight police officers, and his silence up until recently has
been deafening. And the real sad part of this — and when I went to the
White House in the first term with (Vice President) Joe Biden — he said
to me that he would be the voice of law enforcement. Well, as much as I
love and adore Joe, his voice has been silent as well. So it’s not an
Obama problem, it’s an administration problem.
This is a horror show, this is an epidemic of lawless people trying
to kill police officers for no apparent reasons. Case in point is the
lieutenant who was pumping gas in Houston. Over 7,000 people were at
that church, and where was he (Obama)? Why wasn’t he there instead of a
unity breakfast?
Just like that, police did what they thought was best, and it
actually had tremendous results. According to a few sources, Obama and
his administration actually felt disrespected and aren’t too happy about
it:

Flynn went on to point out that Obama has had several
chances to do the right thing in order to keep the peace, but his black
pride agenda has proven to be the only path worth pursuing. So, instead
of keeping the people who protect our streets safe, he’s effectively
fanned the flames of racial tension and hate, contributing to – if not
creating entirely – the situation we see today.
Luckily, Flynn states that it’s not too late as a public
statement from our president in support of police could change the
overall attitude. “I think it would send a message to people in law
enforcement that we have a commander-in-chief who actually is backing
the people who are in the war on the street,” he said. “And this is a
war on the street. He’s got to come out and ask to be a unified group
and to support law enforcement.”
Unfortunately, I don’t see that happening as Obama has
proven time and time again that his ego comes before anything else in
this world, even if that means the lives of Americans. Just ask the
family of Deputy Sheriff Darren Goforth.
Despite the outright execution of police officers, Obama
still stands by his original statements on account of nothing more than
embarrassment to admit he was wrong. What a pathetic piece of trash. You
know what this nation really needs? A president who actually loves
America. Is it 2016 yet?

Perhaps the only good thing we can say about domestic violence right
now is that we know it when we see it. The Ray Rice video and the
pictures of what Chris Brown did to Rihanna's face have cemented a solid
image into the public consciousness, giving us a framework to point at
and say, "That! Yeah, that! Let's get that right on out of here." Which
is good, right? The "know your enemy" part of the fight against domestic
abuse is taken care of.
Except we kinda don't know the enemy at all. And since one in four women and one in seven men will be abused in their lifetime,
this is kind of a big blind spot. We spoke to six different victims of
domestic abuse -- male and female -- and found out that lots of these
cases don't look like the plots of Lifetime movies ...
#5. No, It Isn't Always A Tough Guy Beating A Submissive Woman

When we say "domestic violence," most of us get the same image in our
head: a man, probably a white guy with a southern accent, probably wearing a sleeveless white shirt,
standing over a woman who cowers on the ground in fear. But while that
happens, that's only a tiny sliver of the whole picture. For instance,
we mentioned about three sentences ago that, while domestic abuse
happens less often to men, it still fucking happens. And of the women who've reported at least one instance of domestic violence in their life, more than half say it was "bidirectional." That's how it went for "Lindsay": "We had our first argument at his parent's house in the yard at 2
a.m. We started wrestling, both of us back and forth. He got in my face
and yelled at me, and I punched him right in his face, so he grabbed me
and we started wrestling in the yard ... I had a nice little violence
streak myself, so it made the whole process destructively fun."

But after Lindsay got pregnant, the dynamic changed: "That's when the fear set in, because I was so sick and had no way
to defend myself. He kept going, and it got worse ... he dragged me
down a flight of stairs by my hair and threw me over a balcony."
See, here's the thing: Even bringing up the concept of a woman
getting physical with a man is borderline offensive to some, because it
makes it sound like they're equally at fault, and that therefore no one
involved can be considered a victim. The reality is that mutual abuse
can mean one party gets slapped, while the other gets put in the
hospital; one lives in fear for their life, the other is merely annoyed.
What we do know is that women are twice as likely to get injured from abuse, simply because guys generally are bigger and stronger than them.

But, as wrong as it is to say that men have it as bad, it's
equally wrong to pretend male victims don't exist. The two men we spoke
to both said that they had trouble believing that they were victims
themselves, let alone convincing other people: "The first one that I remember the most vividly is when she threw a DS at my head," said Dean. Another time, they were shopping and, "there
was a problem with her card, and after it went through it, ended up
overcharging her. I tried to reach over and comfort her, but she dug her
fingernails into my arm and cut my wrist open." And that right
there is another misconception. It isn't always about huge blow-ups and
dramatic beatings; it can also mean smaller, but constant, abuse that
slowly wears away the victim's sense of self-worth and urge to protect
themselves.
Oh, and when Dean finally called the police on his abuser, he almost ended up being the one arrested.

Once again, these cases get used as ammo by people trying to argue
which gender gets it worse, but at the end of the day, the same gender
roles wind up screwing everybody -- just in different ways. As Will
says, "There are very few people who could ever believe I was unsafe, or I was manipulated or used. How can a man be physically scared of a woman, let alone emotionally? That doesn't compute to society. Men aren't meant to have emotions. We are supposed to be the rock or whatever."
#4. Not All Abuse Is Physically Violent

Unless you're a special kind of asshole, you probably agree that
beating the everloving hell out of someone you love is bad. That's why
the hallmarks of any movie or public service announcement about domestic
violence are bruises, broken bones, and black eyes -- maybe covered
with makeup or flimsy excuses, to drive home how shameful victims find
the experience.
Even if we don't see someone actually in physical pain, we're shown the signs that some kind of physical altercation took place. In reality, abuse is a lot more complicated than that. Studies consistently find that victims of abuse find the emotionally abusive acts more devastating than the physical violence, and that oftentimes, the most traumatic part of the physical abuse is the fear it inspires
-- fear that is the same whether they're getting hit, or only feel like
they might. Two of the people we spoke to, Sarah and Shannon, never
suffered physical abuse at all. "I remember telling my ex that it would hurt me less if he hit me," Sarah said. "One
of the worst was when I was sitting on my bed, and my daughter was a
few months old, and I was trying to cover my baby's ears while he was
screaming at me and throwing blankets and calling me a fucking bitch. He
used to tout 'I've never hit you,' as if it was something to be proud
of."

your pants." Neither are something to brag about as an adult.
Sometimes the abuse is manipulation, like how Shannon's ex repeatedly told her he was going to kill himself. "He
took my keys, went back to my room to get a knife he had given me to
keep him from killing himself, and then he wouldn't leave. I had to call
my friends at 5 a.m. to get him out of my room. Later, a girl took me
aside and told me that he had planned to do this. He had told his boss
that he wouldn't be in that morning."
What these stories have in common is that the victims and
perpetrators both knew that no one would take claims of abuse seriously
if they didn't have a black eye, or at least a few bruises to show off.
Shannon said that because she was never beaten, she didn't think it was
abuse. Hell, the abuser probably didn't, either. "What, does this look
like a mullet and a tank top to you? I'm not one of those guys."
The average person knows shockingly little about the human body,
considering that they've spent their entire life living inside one. It's
not their fault, though; bullshit "facts" about health, diet, sex, and
everything else continue to swirl around pop culture, and even make it
into the classroom. So let's set the record straight on a few big ones
...
#6. Myth: Sitting Too Close to the TV Will Damage your Eyes

You probably remember one of the most exciting things about
childhood: coming home from school, grabbing a snack, then sitting
cross-legged on the floor a few inches from the TV as the cartoons came
on. That is, until your parents would tell you to pick your ass up and move back, because sitting that close to the TV would ruin your vision.

The Reality:
If there's any correlation between sitting so close to the TV as a
child that it looked like you were about to make out with it and needing
glasses as an adult, then it's probably the other way around
-- that is to say, you were sitting that close because you had shitty
eyesight to begin with, and that was the only way you could see the TV.
In fact, of all the studies that have been done to test whether there
was a minimum distance below which the TV would start to fry your eyes
into smoking craters, no evidence has ever come out to suggest that
there even is one. The rumors probably surfaced back when old-timey
televisions spewed radiation, and people were worried about damaged eyes and/or Hulk powers during Amos 'n' Andy.

Staring at television or computer screens for long periods can make
your eyes hurt and feel dry and strained, but this isn't because the
screen is harming your eyes; it's because focusing hard on something
means you blink less often, and your eyes get tired. Just take a break now and then, and you can press your nose right up against that porno without worrying about cataracts.
#5. Myth: Healthy Teeth Should be Gleaming White

Every toothpaste you pick up promises at least two things: fresh
breath and white teeth. Because when someone smiles and puts a mouth
full of piss-yellow teeth on display, all you're thinking is "put down
the coffee and pick up a toothbrush, you medieval pit beast." Yellow
teeth are a sign of terrible hygiene, and repel sex more effectively
than a beard confined entirely to the lower neck.

The Reality:
You might think white teeth are attractive, but as far as being
natural, they're the dental equivalent of fake breasts. That's right, the natural color
of human teeth is yellow. Sure, staining them with coffee or cigarettes
makes them darker, as does not brushing often enough, or doing meth.
But the pinnacle of oral health doesn't make your mouth look like George
Clooney's, either.
In fact, your desperate, futile attempts to scrub your teeth white
can actually damage them. Stiff toothbrushes are abrasive and weaken
teeth by stripping off the outer layers. On top of that, "whitening"
toothpaste brands are mostly bullshit. If you cough up the dough to get your teeth professionally whitened, they'll bleach the enamel, which also damages them.

So despite TV commercials insisting that healthy teeth should be as
white and polished as a stormtrooper's crotch plate, the whole "gleaming
white teeth" thing is one of those cultural beauty standards, like
insisting dudes need to wax their chest hair.
#4. Myth: Tongue Rolling Is a Genetic Trait

This is another one you probably first heard in elementary school.
When science teachers are exasperatedly trying to explain the concept of
genetics to idiot children, they usually bring out examples of
hereditary traits. They pick simple, easy-to-spot things like hair and
eye color, and of course, tongue rolling. If you can roll your tongue
into a gross tube shape, it means one of your parents also has the most
pointless superpower ever. If neither of them have this ability, but the
mailman does, it means your mother is a filthy whore.

The Reality:
Your science teacher was wrong. Not about genetics as a concept --
that's pretty solid -- but about tongue rolling being an example of it.
As early as the 1950s, studies had already been done that showed rolling
your tongue isn't a trait passed down from your parents. It's something
you learn.
The studies showed
that the percentage of kids who can tongue roll goes from 54 percent in
the 6-7 age range to 76 percent for the age of 12. This means that a
bunch of kids just dick around in their spare time (they have a lot of
it), practicing tongue tricks until they learn how to do it. It's not
genetics any more than twirling a pencil is -- it's just bored kids
learning a dumb trick.
The original assertion that it was a genetic thing came from a paper published in 1940,
which excitedly claimed to have discovered "A New Inherited Character
in Man" in the form of children who could pull a stupid face in a
certain way. So at least your teacher didn't get it off Wikipedia or
something, but it still pays to check the publication date of your
sources.
For years people have been clamoring for a black James Bond but from
what the author said, that's probably not going to happen anytime soon.

saying British actor Idris Elba is too street to be play the famous
British spy.
“For me, Idris Elba is a bit too rough to play the part. It’s

They said she has a diva attitude and she denied
this. But according to new reports, pop star Ariana Grande, 21, now insists on
being carried when she is too tired to walk.
"Her new rule is that she has to be carried -- literally
carried like a baby -- when she doesn't feel like walking. She says that she
