As part of its corporate social responsibility initiatives, international hair care brand, Natures Gentle Touch, manufactured by Recare Limited recently graduated some students from its hair institute. 
 




Speaking on the graduation of the students, Mr Ramesh Hullur, Chief Executive Officer, Recare Limited stated that the institute’s nine months intensive training programme empowers students with theoretical and practical skills needed to establish financial sustenance in the beauty and personal care industry.
 ‘’The Natures Gentle Touch Hair Institute was established to bridge the gap in hair care services in Nigeria. Our students are exposed to modern styling equipment and experts, who take them through courses in cosmetology, trichology and professional development ‘’, he said.
In similar vein, Mr Daniel Komlan, Field Education Manager, Recare Limited said that, ‘’The Institute was set up to redefine hair care services in the country. We realized that there were no professionally trained hair stylists and as a result many women were suffering from different hair and scalp problems. We decided to give formal training to stylists and develop products to help solve these problems’’
The Natures Gentle Touch Hair Institute provides student with the knowledge and skills to elevate the hair care services industry to international standards. Students graduating from the institute also have huge potentials to make impact in various other fields beyond the salon. They are employable in the media industry as beauty care experts or product development executives in cosmetic companies.
Commending the training programme, Oluwatobi Sangonuga, one of the graduating students said ‘’ it is a privilege for me to have participated in the nine months training. The training has sharpened my artistry and given me a treasure that no one can take from me. I am very happy I participated and hope to establish my business someday’’.

The Nigerian Police Force has asked Nigerians to be vigilant in collecting gifts during this yuletide season as members of terror group, Boko Haram could attack using Explosive Laden Hampers. The advice was contained in a statement released on their website today. Find it after the cut...


The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Suleiman Abba, CFR, NPM, NPOM, mni, in the light of the Yuletide season and emerging security challenges in parts of the country, hereby warns all citizens to be vigilant while receiving gifts from unknown persons that may pose as friends during the season, to avoid explosive-laden hampers as gifts.
The Inspector-General of Police also cautions against the use of fireworks such as knockout, "bangers" and other explosives in the celebration as they could cause distraction that may further heighten fear of insecurity. He also enjoins citizens to shun all forms of violence and unlawful acts, eschew bitterness, hatred and rancor and go about their legitimate duties without fear of intimidation from any quarter during and after the season.

Meanwhile, to ensure a peaceful and incident-free Yuletide, the IGP has directed all Zonal AIGs and Command Commissioners of Police, to take all necessary measures in ensuring the provision of adequate security for worshippers, travellers, picnickers and all citizens across the country before, during, and after the season. Command Commissioners of Police are to personally ensure that all key and vulnerable points within their jurisdictions, including places of worship, recreation centres, motor parks, highways, financial institutions and all places of public resort are adequately and effectively protected.

As a mark of celebration for the 45 years of existence for the Tic Tac, the most famous Mint brand in the world, three winners have emerged at the just concluded pan Nigerian Tic Tac brand activation project  tagged “Shake and Share” Promo. 

Tic Tac, a brand from the stable of Ferrero is one of the leaders in the confectionary segment of the market. Winners of the promotion’s grand prizes of iPhone 6 include Buoyant Ikor- Lagos Ejimole Loveth Chiamaka- Port Harcourt and Ita Okokon-Lagos.

During the roadshow, orchestrated by Route 712 Agency, Tic Tac promoted special promo picture contest “shake and share” that offer consumers the opportunity to win 3 Apple iPhone 6 and other numerous consolation prizes such as Samsung Smart Phones, Limited edition Tic Tac  T-Shirt, Face cap, Key holders, Flash drives, Pen and Free Tic Tac product.

Announcing the winners, in a elaborate prize presentation ceremony in Lagos at at Protea Hotel, GRA, Ikeja, the country representative of Ferrero company, Adewale Adediran said that the mint confectionary brand was embarking on the initiative as a mark of respect for its teeming consumers and as a way of showing deep appreciation for their consistency toward the brand since inception.
He explained that Tic Tac understand the role consumers had played in the journey to attain the milestone hence believe it was imperative to give back for their support.
Speaking on the brand and its acceptability in the market, Adediran pointed out that the fact that consumers have had a memorable experience in the road show is an attestation that Nigerians appreciate and love the brand.
Tic Tac is available in two flavors that include mint and orange and is offered in an iconic and stylish plastic package format of 33 pills at 70 Naria.
He said” Tic Tac has come a long way. It is famous all over the world for its unique rattle sound, its stylish transparent plastic packaging and its inimitable refreshing and pleasant taste. It is also recognized as the most famous mint in the world and in the top 5 ranking of sugar confectionery brands in the world.”
It would be recalled that the promo which kicked off in October 13th this year and ended November 21st had tens of thousands of consumers and fans taking part in a roadshow.
The campaign generated some key interesting figures, indicating that the project was a huge success.
According to the info collected on the field and on the Official Nigerian Tic Tac Facebook page – www.facebook.com/tictacnigeria - the 35 days campaign that took place in Lagos – 18 days, Abuja- 12 days and Port Harcourt-5 days, had generated some interesting statistics. 
Over 180, 000 consumers participated in the roadshow; meanwhile out of the total number of consumers more than 2,000 had reportedly entered into iPhone 6 promo while over 50,000 Tic Tac products were sampled.
During the campaign also over 13,500 consumers joined the Tic Tac Facebook page, over 100,000 consumers interacted with Tic Tac Facebook contents with more than 32,000 likes and 2,200 comments left on the page.
Ten radio hype messages were released through the On Air Personality (OAP) in some most urban radio station within the three markets areas covered reaching estimated an 2.5million people.
To qualify for the promo, consumers and fans were asked to register at the Roadshow activation in any of the identified markets near their neighborhood, take picture of themselves and follow daily news uploaded on the Facebook account of the brand.
Apart from Tic Tac, the Ferrero company, the Italian multinationals group and global leader in the confectionery industry, is the marker of legendary brands such as Ferrero Rocher, the golden wrapped chocolate praline, Nutella, the unique hazelnut cocoa spread offered in glass shaped jar, and Kinder Joy, the milk chocolate treat made for children with a toy surprise inside. All these products are available and distributed in Nigeria by G.I.& D., FMCG company of CFAO Group.

 Africa’s biggest youth event, The Future Awards Africa 2014 which held yesterday at the prestigious Intercontinental Hotel, was an unforgettable evening of inspiration.

The awards which were hosted by Iyanya, Osas Ighodaro, Ice Prince and Flavia saw 10 outstanding individuals rewarded for their excellent work across different fields: business, entertainment, politics, science and technology and education.


 

A star highlight of the evening was the final phase of TFAA’s #STOPEBOLA campaign, which was held via an auction on a custom piece by A-List haute couture designer, Lanre Da Silva Ajayi. 

Blogger, Linda Ikeji bid a whopping sum of 1Million Naira on the dress and the proceeds will go to the UN Ebola Response Fund.


The event was also graced by high-profile personalities in persons of President Goodluck Jonathan, represented by Honourable Minister for Youth Development, Boni Haruna, Governor Rotimi Amaechi, Dr, Oby Ezekwesili, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Banky W, Funke Akindele, Seyi Shay, to name a few.
