A female worker with the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, has said she could do anything nasty just to win the star prize of this year’s Big Brother Naija, which is N45 million.

The young lady spoke with Legit Tv during the Big Brother Naija audition last week.

“I have been longing for this day to come, I have been doing campaign, telling my friends to vote for me when I get into BB Naija house, I have been telling my neighbours and friends and church members. I am a worker, I had to leave it, I attend Redeemed,” she said.

Watch video here:

The interviewer then asked her, “Are you aware that such programmes as this is immoral?” She replied: “I don’t care, all that matters to me is my spiritual life; you can’t tell me, even if I am serving God, you won’t know what I have in my heart, so you can’t tell me because I am in Big Brother, I am going to do rubbish things, after all, I am not a virgin; so I don’t mind, any nasty thing, I will do; all I know, I need that N45 million.”

Controversial on-air personality, Daddy Freeze, then commented on the interview, saying “If the church fails at teaching morality then of what use is it? She is not a floor member o, she is a worker in church willing to do anything for money. It’s not her fault though, most pastors are also willing to do anything for mammon their god of money.

“Did you see her excitement when she heard that the prize money this year was 45 million Naira?”

The 165-year-old clothing manufacturer shows off F.L.X., a platform that uses lasers to replicate vintage denim, in this 360-degree tour of their Eureka Lab.

It's no secret that the broken-in look on a pair of blue jeans rarely comes from actually wearing them. Walk into any clothing store and you'll have your pick of styles with fade patterns and maybe even a few fashionable rips.

For decades brands typically have achieved that sought-after look by treating the denim by hand, using large amounts of chemicals. But recently the Eureka Lab, Levi Strauss's innovation center in San Francisco, has developed a new method of making jeans that relies less on manual labor and more on some advanced technology.

The F.L.X. Project, a digital platform Levi's launched last year, entails photographing old jeans with an iPad, then using a laser to duplicate the imperfections on a freshly manufactured pair. Whereas creating wear patterns by hand takes 20 to 30 minutes per pair, the laser rig completes the task in about 90 seconds.

In its lab, Levi's has jeans dating back nearly a century that can serve as inspiration for new creations, providing virtually limitless customization options. The lab also can make near-clones of the original version, down to its wear patterns, fade lines, and tears.

"[It] nearly exactly replicates the vintage jean that inspired it," says Bart Sights, the lab's head of technical innovation.

Inc. visited the Eureka Lab to watch the new process in action. Check out the 360-degree video above to see how a tablet and a laser can create pants that look like they're from the 1930s in less than two minutes.

Your audience craves authenticity and a personal connection with your brand.

Whether you're a small-business owner competing with giants like Amazon or a young Latina running for office for the first time, you can use social media to your advantage. Through her effective use of social media, Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez became the first 29-year-old Latina to beat a 10-term white male incumbent. This goes to show that, when used correctly, the power of social media is huge.

Here are some examples of how she used social media, and how you can implement similar strategies to build trust and win customers too.
1. She knew exactly who her audience was and what appealed to them.

As a minority Millennial herself, she knew young people wanted real solutions to real problems affecting their communities. They are disappointed by the politicians and how government policies are made, and hence don't see value in exercising their right to vote. They do, however, like to voice their opinions on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, the main platforms Ocasio-Cortez used to talk with her people, not at them.

What this means for your business:

Before you start developing a new product or service, talk to real people who might be having the problem you're trying to solve. This will require virtually or physically meeting people where they spend most of their time.
Take the time to really listen, and respond to their messages and comments on your social-media accounts.

2. She gave her people something to care about, and hope for, by using everyday language and analogies.

A powerful example of this is her comparison of the voting process to the dating process. In a short video that she posted on election day, she described how frustrating it is to keep dating until you find your soulmate. She then stated that voting is similar in the sense that you don't see immediate results. It takes time and numbers for the change to take place, but that doesn't mean one shouldn't exercise their right to vote.

How you can use simple yet powerful messaging:

Write marketing material at the 6th-grade level. If your kids can understand what you do, so can your prospects.
Limit jargon to internal communication, as your team understands exactly what it means, but your customers might not.
Use emotion to describe how your customers will feel after successfully implementing your solution.

3. She bridged the gap between politics and everyday people by taking them behind the scenes.

If you look at her Instagram feed, you'll see lots of photos and videos from the Capitol building, giving us a glimpse into her day-to-day activities. She even described her first few days at the Capitol as a high school orientation, complete with her "freshman yearbook" pictures. Through familiar concepts like high school orientation and the occasional use of emojis, her followers get to experience politics as if they were actually in her office. Politics doesn't always have to be a boring subject kept hidden from outsiders.

Ways you can take your people behind the scenes:

Encourage your employees to share their experiences on social media.
Make your hiring process more fun and human by sharing video clips of the new hire's team members and manager.
Post photos and videos of "boring" tasks like assembling new equipment or unfinished products.

4. Her online personality matched her offline personality, and she is not afraid of openly discussing what needs to be discussed.

Politicians are known for making promises before the election, but not following through with their commitments afterward. Ocasio-Cortez has maintained transparency by staying consistent with her message both online and offline, as well as before and after her election.

One of the radical ideas she proposed was abolishing Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE, for violating human rights. She has continued advocating for minorities by showing up at rallies and other community events.

How you can maintain an authentic brand:

Clearly identify your core values and live by them, no matter where you are.
Do what you say you will do; do not make promises you can't deliver on.

You too can build trust with your target audience by identifying their needs, proposing simple solutions, sharing exclusive content, and living your core values.

Off of their latest album Girl Code.

City Girls unleashed the music video to the lead single "Twerk" from their new album Girl Code on Wednesday. Watch it now up above.

The Cardi B-assisted clip is filled with exactly what the song title suggests: lots and lots of twerking. Cardi and Yung Miami both appear with a full-on tiger body paint look, while laid out on a boat in the middle of the water somewhere in Miami.

Late last year, City Girls released the music video to "Seasons" featuring Quality Control label-mate Lil baby. Girl Code was released in November, and features appearances from Jacquees, Cardi B, and Lil Baby. JT is currently incarcerated, and is reportedly seeking to be released this year.

Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), says his friends are entitled to be rich.

He said this in Lagos during an interactive session with the business community.

Atiku was asked to respond to Eurasia Group’s analysis on him enriching his cronies if he gets elected and he said he was happy that the group did not say he would enrich himself or his family.

The presidential candidate said his friends are entitled to be rich as long as there’s no element of corruption.
“I’m happy that they didn’t say I will enrich myself, or the members of my family but my friends, are my friends not entitled to be enriched? As long as there’s no element of corruption in there.”

Increased pressure building on New Zealand's largest fault has kicked into motion a project for an emergency response plan.

Research in recent years shows there is a greater likelihood of a rupture than first thought on the Hikurangi fault line, following the Kaikōura earthquakes in 2016, according to the East Coast Life at the Boundary (LAB).

GNS scientist Laura Wallace said this was a result of a combination of factors, including evidence for pressure building on the fault, and geological evidence for prehistoric earthquakes on the subduction zone.

"A subduction zone is where one tectonic plate subducts [dives] underneath another - the boundary between these two plates forms a large fault. This one in particular runs offshore from the east of Gisborne down to the top of the South Island and poses a significant earthquake and tsunami risk to the entire east coast of New Zealand."

She said subduction zone faults had been responsible for most of the world's deadliest earthquakes and tsunamis to date, and it was now a matter of when and not if that rupture would happen.

"While we're carrying out more research to build a clearer picture of the hazard posed by the Hikurangi fault, we know a rupture at some point in the future is certain."

The East Coast LAB - along with Civil Defence and other expert groups - will undertake the mission of establishing a Hikurangi Response Plan using a magnitude 8.9 earthquake and tsunami scenario.

The plan is part of a three-year project which will outline how to respond to an earthquake on the Hikurangi fault line, and enhance communities' earthquake and tsunami preparedness.

However, the East Coast LAB said that while the scenario was scientifically credible, scientists can not predict when or how any real event will occur.

The plan will also help determine implications of such an event for the most 'at risk' communities on the North Island, as well as New Zealand as a whole.

Project lead Natasha Goldring said building the collaborative response plan was vital in lifting readiness for a future earthquake.

"The scenario we are using to support the development of this response plan is a very realistic example of what we could face in our lifetime, or that of our children and grandchildren," Ms Goldring said.

Information on how to prepare for an earthquake or tsunami can be found here.

Looking to create a dessert table for a party? It can be easy and fun to create the perfect table full of sweet treats for your guests. Here are my tips and tricks.

These photos are from my daughter, Juliette’s, first birthday party. Note: I am definitely not a party planner or a professional baker. I’m just a mama that wanted to make my little girl’s birthday party extra special. I was pleasantly surprised at how fun and affordable it is to create a dessert table. You can do it too!

Here’s how I did it:

DESSERT MENU:
Fresh Strawberry Layer Cake
Vanilla Smash Cake (for Juliette)
Raspberry Brownie Trifles
Chocolate Peanut Butter Brownie Trifles
Oatmeal Cream Pies
Chocolate Dipped Strawberries

1) Plan, plan, plan! How many guests are you hosting? How many desserts would you like to serve? Do you need to accommodate anyone with food allergies? I served 5 desserts to about 25 guests, and nearly everything was eaten!

2) Make as many items as you can in advance.

Most cake layers (unfrosted) can be tightly wrapped and frozen days in advance. Defrost in the fridge, then frost the cake the day of your event.
Balls of cookie dough freeze beautifully. Make cookie dough days or weeks in advance, then bake them the day of your event – freshly baked cookies with minimal effort! I did this for the oatmeal cream pies.
Pound cake also freezes really well, and it’s great in trifles. No one will know it’s not freshly baked!

3) Use a mixture of homemade and store bought items. You don’t have to make all the desserts yourself. Pick and choose the items you want to make, and then buy the rest.

4) Take one thing (I used boxed brownies) and make two desserts from it. I prepared a boxed brownie mix the day before, then chopped the brownies and layered them into two different flavors of trifles the day of the party (pictured below). I used a gluten-free brownie mix because we had several gluten-free guests. Even the guests who eat gluten loved these trifles!

5) Apothecary jars, mason jars, and candy dishes all look great on a dessert table. Fill them with candy and provide a scoop for guests to help themselves.

6) Table decor: fabric is typically less expensive than buying tablecloths. We used a large piece of burlap and tulle for our table covering. I also suggest using items from around your house to decorate. I used a banner, floral print, frames, and candles that we already had in our house.

7) To make your display more visually pleasing, display desserts on dishes, platters, and stands of varied heights. Additionally, you can raise platters or stands even higher by placing them on a stack of books hidden under the fabric or tablecloth.

Most importantly – HAVE FUN! Your guests will love the assortment of sweet treats, and you’ll enjoy watching your dessert table bring people together. Happy celebrating!

If it's a white Christmas in the Siberian town of Myski, suspicious residents might want to look around for some empty cans of paint.

The mining town's mayor has apologized after it was discovered that the snow on a children's sledding hill was painted white -- apparently to cover coal dust.

Mayor Dmitry Ivanov said the chief of the company responsible for the town’s development has been reprimanded for painting the hill white, according to a statement on the town's official website on December 19.

"I apologize to residents whose New Year's mood has been spoiled by this incident," Ivanov said in the statement.

In Russia, the big New Year's holiday is followed by Orthodox Christmas on January 7.

The apology and reprimand came after videos posted online showed parents who brought their children to the sledding hill saying it was covered with white paint.

In a tradition said to date back to Potemkin villages of the tsarist era, local officials eager to make a good impression sometimes have features like fences and building facades freshly painted ahead of visits by leaders.

Man filmed smashing glass on message board at Orthodox Jewish synagogue in Manhattan.

An Orthodox Jewish synagogue in Manhattan was vandalized earlier this week, when a man walking past the house of prayer smashed glass covering a synagogue message board.

The incident occurred at the Adereth El synagogue on East 29th Street, near Lexington Avenue, at approximately 11:00 p.m. Monday night.

Officials at the synagogue later found that the message board on the building’s exterior had been damaged.

Security camera footage of the incident shows two men walking past the synagogue, when all of the sudden one man approaches the building and slams his elbow into the glass case. The two then walk off, appearing to celebrate the suspect’s act of vandalism.

Synagogue officials filed a report with the New York Police Department, and an investigation has been opened into the incident.

The Dread Wolf rises... eventually.

The rumors were true: despite departures from the original team, BioWare has confirmed that it's working on a new Dragon Age game. Only... there's not much to say about it. Apart from promoting a curious #TheDreadWolfRises hashtag, the developer is saying virtually nothing about what the new title entails, when it will ship or even its name. You're going to be disappointed if you were planning your gaming calendar around another fantasy RPG from the studio.

It will have experienced developers, though. On top of people from the Dragon Age days, you'll find veterans from Jade Empire and even the classic Baldur's Gate series. The pedigree is right -- let's just hope BioWare doesn't leave gamers hanging and provides some real information in the near future.

Steam, take note.

The Epic Games Store is live and it's not messing around. Epic threw it live during The Game Awards, where a handful of titles debuted as Epic Games Store exclusives. This comes just two days after announcing a digital marketplace with a significantly more profitable pricing model for developers than Steam.

Four games are available right now on the Epic Games Store: Fortnite (of course), Ashen, Hello Neighbor: Hide and Seek, and Hades. That last title is the new project from Supergiant Games, and it's available in early access exclusively on the Epic Games Store.

On top of new games, it's now confirmed that acclaimed PlayStation exclusive Journey is heading to PC via the Epic Games Store, published by Annapurna Interactive. The store is also offering a free game every two weeks throughout 2019, starting with Subnautica from December 14th to 27th. After that, it's Super Meat Boy from December 28th to January 10th.

The Epic Games Store has a revenue split of 88/12 -- giving developers who sell a game 88 percent of the cash it generates. Steam, meanwhile, has a revenue split of 70/30, the longtime industry standard. It recently updated that policy, though, offering better cuts for games that make more than $10 million. Still, that can't compete with a flat rate of nearly 90 percent.

A dig at Rockstar?

In brief: Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll probably know that Red Dead Redemption 2 has finally arrived. With it comes a slew of incredibly positive reviews, some of which call it one of the best games of all time. But the success has been marred by reports of ‘crunch culture’ at Rockstar. It’s something the company is said to have now addressed, but rival firm Ubisoft still pointed out that massive crunch wasn’t a requirement with Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

In an interview with Gamasutra, Ubisoft Quebec managing director Patrick Klaus says that despite the huge size and scope of Odyssey, the company never made its staff work mandatory overtime.

"While we can always do better, I can tell you hand on heart that [Assassin's Creed Odyssey] hasn't required a massive crunch, like maybe some of the triple-As from five or ten years ago," said Klaus.

"We can still always do better, but we have managed pretty well to succeed in delivering a game of huge magnitude which is hitting a good quality [level], while making sure that our teams are not burnt out and disgusted with working in games."

Rockstar came under fire after company co-founder Dan Houser made a remark about staff at the studio working 100-hour weeks. He later explained that it was a reference to a three-week time frame involving himself and senior RDR2 writers, but some current and former employees said they often worked well over 50- and 60-hour weeks.

Rockstar has now said that overtime at its UK Q&A studio is now optional, but the PR damage had already been done, which is perhaps why Ubisoft took the opportunity to reveal it doesn’t embrace crunch culture—at least not anymore.

“It’s something we were very, very bad at 15 years ago, but as the industry is maturing, we are becoming better at managing our teams, managing our scope,” said assassin's Creed Odyssey's Senior Producer Marc-Alexis Côté. “Not every studio will grow in that way, not every team will grow in that way, but it’s one of the commitments we made to our team when we started: that we would manage the scope of the game, that it was super-ambitious, but that every two weeks we would reassess it with them to always make sure that it is doable.”

Ubisoft’s executives said there were times when devs did put in extra hours over Odyssey’s three-year development, but doing so was a team decision and those that did overtime were encouraged to slow down once it was over. "They have a brilliant idea, they want to implement it, so they'll push for a couple of weeks and then rest a little bit," said Côté.

While working an excessive number of hours is associated with many professions, video game development has long been considered one of the worst. It’s unlikely that many gamers would refuse to buy a title because of its maker’s reputation for overworking its staff, but the bad publicity and the fact it could discourage people from entering the game industry mean more studios are addressing the problem. https://www.geezgo.com/sps/44455

Enhanced privacy controls also coming to Google Maps

Bottom line: Removing your search history from Google's servers has gotten easier, but the amount of data that Google collects is still not going to be reduced anytime in the foreseeable future.

Utilizing the powers of Google Search come at the cost of sharing data. Everything that gets entered into the search box or Chrome's omnibar somehow finds its way to Google servers where it can be logged and stored. Clearing browser history works for deletion of locally stored data, but will not removed anything stored on Google's end.

A new feature has been introduced to Google Search that allows users to delete their search history from remote storage. Although allowing Google to keep your search history can sometimes help you find more relevant results, it is clear that many users favor enhanced privacy.

Upon navigating to the updated dashboard, Google allows filtering by product and time. Simply select Search under the filters and the option to wipe out all search history is readily available.

Changes are being rolled out to Search on desktop and mobile web today. Updates to Android and iOS apps will be implemented in the next few weeks. In addition to the new privacy control for Search, Google is also working on a similar option for Maps that will allow deletion of user data.

Having been on the receiving end of numerous fines from European regulators, Google appears to be covering itself from future litigation as much as it is giving end users more control over their personal data.

Most recently, US Congress members have put Google in the hot seat for failing to disclose the hack of Google+ in a timely manner. Efforts to give consumers more control over their data are appreciated, but there is still a very long way to go before Google could possibly shake its reputation of far reaching data collection.

Sometimes, somehow, it just gets funny. In the same week that the Trump administration says it will leave the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty with Russia, the White House Council of Economic Affairs (CEA) lets loose with a new report called, “The Opportunity Costs of Socialism.”

Not only does the Trump administration have us hurtling back into the dark days of the Cold War, but it shows that it’s co-opted a once-respected government institution, here the normally careful and studious CEA, for use as an awkward political mouthpiece.

Vox takes a good stab at explaining why a research report declaring the impotence of socialism and the vigor and rightness of capitalism would issue from the White House in 2018. It has something to do with the threat of socialized medicine. Suffice it to consider these priceless excerpts, which sound like they were written by a fading John Birch Society egghead pining for the good old days.

On page one, the CEA economists state: “We find that historical proponents of socialist policies and those in the contemporary United States share some of their visions and intents.” The CEA report draws some shaky parallels between the socialist authoritarians of old (Lenin, Mao, and Stalin) and the democratic socialists of today (Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren), like this:
The Chinese leader Mao Zedong, who cited Marxism as the model for his country, described “the ruthless economic exploitation and political oppression of the peasants by the landlord class” (Cotterell 2011, chap. 6). Expressing similar concerns, current American senators Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren have stated that “large corporations . . . exploit human misery and insecurity, and turn them into huge profits” and “giant corporations . . . exploit workers just to boost their own profits.”

See? They all use that “exploit” word. Twenty-first century single-payer healthcare, then, must have something in common with the starvation of the Great Leap Forward and the bloodshed of the Stalinist Purges, right?

“The socialist narrative names the oppressors of the vulnerable, such as the bourgeoisie (Marx), kulaks (Lenin), landlords (Mao), and giant corporations (Sanders and Warren).”

The report even takes a shot at French economist Thomas Piketty, whose 2013 book Capital put a thorn in the side of many right-wingers by pretty much proving the dangers of the Achilles Heel of today’s capitalist systems: That is, their habit of continually cycling capital upward to the narrowest and wealthiest echelons of society.

Piketty (2014) concludes that the Soviet approach and other attempts to “abolish private ownership” should at least be admired for being “more logically consistent.

As Vox notes, the CEA report spends a good deal of time explaining why the socialist agrarian systems of 20th Century China and Russia didn’t work. A quick word search of the report, however, finds no usages of “1928,” “stock market crash,” or “Great Depression.”
The report eventually lifts itself out of the past and attempts to dispel the liberal admiration of modern socialist systems of the Nordic countries, which seem to work reasonably well. To prove our capitalist system works better, the report points out that GDP per capita is higher in the U.S. than in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, and Sweden. And to really drive the point home, the CEA economists show that it’s cheaper to own a pickup truck in Bismarck, North Dakota, than it is in Haugesund, Norway. In a recent poll, Gallup found that the general view of “socialism” in the U.S. has evolved somewhat since 1949, when the polling firm last asked the American people about it. In 2018, the number of people who define socialism as government ownership of everything has dropped by half, down to 17%. Around 6% still view it as modified communism, and another 6% had, according to Gallup, “non-specific derogatory opinions” about the term.

Generally, however, Gallup documents a shift toward a “gentler, lighter” understanding of socialism. Around 23% of Americans now–an 11% increase from 1949–see socialism as a means toward greater equity among people, and 10% think it would bring about an increase in benefits like improved social services and universal healthcare.

Not surprisingly, another recent Gallup poll found that only 16% of Republicans have positive views of socialism, and they’re vastly more likely to understand it as government control of the means of production. On the other hand, 57% of Democrats say they now have a positive view of socialism.

Bryan Cranston has a job for you. The acclaimed actor is starring in a stage adaptation of the 1976 movie Network, which is moving to Broadway this month after a successful run on the West End. Cranston stars as Howard Beale, the cantankerous fictional news anchor whose famous “mad as hell” speech never seems to go out of fashion.

In a video posted to YouTube today, he asked viewers to film themselves screaming Beale’s timeless tirade into their smartphone cameras—or computer cameras, or whatever. Then he wants them to post the videos on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter with the hashtag #MadAsHellBway.

“Do it as enthusiastically as possible,” Cranston implores, “even angry!”

What’s the point of this exercise? Well, you will be screaming for your chance to (sort of) appear alongside Cranston in the show. The play, Cranston says, needs “all kinds of videos from all walks of life,” presumably as accompaniment for the immersive, screen-laden set, which won praise from critics in the London version.

Sure, this all sounds a little gimmicky, but having seen Cranston’s amazing performance as LBJ in 2012’s All the Way, I can tell you that appearing on stage with him—even in a video—would be its own reward. Plus, are we not all truly mad as hell in 2018? How hard will it be to channel some of that anger for this once-in-a-lifetime chance?

Forgive me for the mixed ’70s-movie reference, but that’s an offer we can’t refuse.

A deep-sea swimming sea cucumber, Enypniastes eximia, also known as a headless chicken monster, has been filmed for the first time in Southern Ocean waters off East Antarctica using underwater camera technology developed by Australian researchers.

The creature, which has only been filmed before in the Gulf of Mexico, was discovered in 3 kilometres of water using an underwater camera system developed for commercial long-line fishing by the Australian Antarctic Division.

"The housing that protects the camera and electronics is designed to attach to toothfish longlines in the Southern Ocean, so it needs to be extremely durable," says Australian Antarctic Division Program Leader Dirk Welsford.

"We needed something that could be thrown from the side of a boat, and would continue operating reliably under extreme pressure in the pitch black for long periods of time.

"Some of the footage we are getting back from the cameras is breathtaking, including species we have never seen in this part of the world."

"Most importantly, the cameras are providing important information about areas of sea floor that can withstand this type of fishing, and sensitive areas that should be avoided," says Welsford.

The data collected from the cameras are being presented at the annual CCAMLR (Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources) meeting starting in Hobart today.

Australia's CCAMLR Commissioner, Gillian Slocum, says Australia will continue to lead on the most pressing issues facing the Southern Ocean, including biodiversity conservation, climate change and science-based fisheries management.

"Australia will again be seeking support for the creation of a new East Antarctic Marine Protected Area," she says.

"We will also support two other new Marine Protected Areas being proposed this year which will contribute to CCAMLR's commitment of a representative system of MPAs in the Southern Ocean."

These proposals are among a number of measures Australia will put forward during the 10-day meeting, including proposals to improve the way CCAMLR responds to the impacts of climate change.

"The Southern Ocean is home to an incredible abundance and variety of marine life, including commercially sought-after species, the harvesting of which must be carefully managed for future generations," says Slocum.

Things are tightening up at Turner Media and, as Deadline reports, the latest victim is Super Deluxe Studios.

Super Deluxe launched as a digital comedy hub for Turner Broadcasting System back in 2006, and served as a platform for talented-but-green creators looking to make a name for themselves. With a pronounced bend toward alternative comedy, Super Deluxe put out early videos from the likes of Zach Galifianakis, Maria Bamford, Chelsea Peretti, and Tim and Eric.

After Super Deluxe petered out, Turner rebranded it in 2015 as “a tech incubator,” still producing comedy videos but chasing the same mobile ubiquity as its Funny or Die peers. The refurbished studio teamed up with a new wave of creators, including Joanna the Scammer, Jamie Loftus, and warped political comedy wizard Vic Berger. In addition, it released regular series like Cheap Thrills and Mansplaining.

Super Deluxe had been branching out at the time of its shuttering, with deaf dramedy series This Close on Sundance Now (a second season is currently in production) and a series order at Netflix for a Stephan Gaghan-produced supernatural drama, Chambers, which is still scheduled for 2019.

The axing is another sign of consolidation at Time Warner, following the shutdown earlier this week of its Korean drama streamer DramaFever. It looks like the ongoing trend of throwing money toward becoming the next monolithic content provider has the unfortunate side effect of squeezing out the (weird) beloved little guy.

Senior Iranian official threatens to raze Israeli cities if Israel “carries out even the smallest mistake” against Iran.

Senior Iranian official Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, a special assistant to the speaker of the Iranian parliament and a former Iranian deputy foreign minister, recently threatened that Iran would raze Tel Aviv and Haifa to the ground if Israel “carries out even the smallest mistake” against the Islamic Republic.

Abdollahian's remarks aired on Russia Today TV on October 18 and were translated by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI).

He accused Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu of employing childish and bombastic diplomatic tactics at the UN General Assembly and on TV, and said that Netanyahu and Israel have reached the end of the road.

Abdollahian further said that Arab countries, including Saudi Arabia, will never unite, and that Iran, Iraq, and Turkey are the only reason the Arab nations can maintain their security. He called on the Arab countries to stop playing US President Donald Trump "the lunatic" and Netanyahu's games, and invited them to partner with "their real friends, like Iran."

Iranian leaders consistently threaten Israel and call for it to be wiped off the map. Earlier this year, Abdollahian organized a festival, called the “International Hourglass Festival”, celebrating what he called the “imminent collapse” of the “Zionist regime of Israel”.

Many of the verbal attacks on Israel come from Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. In June, Khamenei launched a Twitter tirade against Israel, saying that “the Zionist regime will perish in the not-so-far future.”

Earlier that month he called Israel “a malignant cancerous tumor in the West Asian region that has to be removed and eradicated”.

Khamenei also attacked Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu recently and branded him a “child killer”.

Even Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, who has been touted by some as a “moderate” leader, has threatened Israel.

Rouhani has in the past called Israel “illegitimate” and lamented that the crisis in Syria has made it difficult for Iran to focus on harming Israel. More recently, he said that Israel “can never feel safe” because it is “oppressing the Palestinian nation”.
