A teen boy in Missouri had become the target of ruthless
bullying with on-going unbearable torment. The picked on kid’s parents
were fed up with nothing being done to protect their teen, and the
parents’ excuses for their hoodlums’ unacceptable behavior. So when the
frustrated mother and father got a text from their son that he was alone
and about to be attacked by the pack of animals in a park, his
parents arrived with a defense plan in place, giving the wannabes a
taste of the “thug life.”
Don and Tracy Leeser received an alarming text message for
help from their son, Brett, who was cornered by a group of gang member
hopefuls around the corner from St. Charles Hills high school. It was
their kid against three others, 15-year-old Tyrelle Ware, his
18-year-old brother Terrence Ware, and a third culprit, Jack Herren, who
was along for the beat down. White boy Brett didn’t stand a chance
against these heathens, that is until mom and dad showed up.
The trio of thugs began to mouth off to Don and Tracy, both
42, disrespecting adults as they have learned to do without proper
parental leadership. Don had a baseball bat in his hand, but what he and
his wife were hiding would quickly be realized when the group thought
they could take down the Leesers.
An on-looker filmed the altercation as Tracy shouts to the
Ware brothers and Herren to leave her kid alone. As the teens came
toward the mother, she pulled her pistol from her pocket and pointed it
at the kids, sending a clear message that they were messing with the
wrong family. Tracy showed up to Fleet Park that afternoon prepared for
the worst after what she had seen and heard about these hoodlums, and
she wasn’t taking any chances. Her husband wasn’t either, as he
brandished a knife when the kids came at him.
But the thugs’ parents are saying the Leesers went too far
with their kids, who they believe are the real victims here, not Brett.
Officers arrived to the park shortly after the altercation last
Wednesday, ultimately deciding not to charge the parents.
“Did I intend to use the gun? Absolutely not,” Tracy told the St.Louis Post-Dispatch.
“But I felt that was my only safeguard against being killed that night.
Worst-case scenario, yes, I would have used it. But I didn’t.”
Perhaps she pulled the gun out a little prematurely in an
effort to send a message to these thugs — if they want to act like
gangsters, this is what gangsters get. There’s nothing wrong with
showing up armed to a fight with a credible threat, but knowing when to
show it is of vital importance. But even still, the thugs were heard in
the altercation physically threatening the adults, so she didn’t pull
her gun out unprovoked.

What happened shortly after the park incident, further
proves that these parents were in the right to be concerned for their
family’s safety. Three days after the altercation, about a dozen BB’s
were fired into the Leeser’s home, shattering the living room window
where the couple’s 8-year-old daughter was sleeping at the time. It’s
believed that the Ware brothers and Herren were responsible, although
they have denied any wrong-doing..
The thug brothers’ mother, Christina Halton, wants the
Leesers to be charged with a crime for the way she threatened her poorly
raised kids. Her argument is that police and these parents are setting a
bad example to her kids. It’s easier to blame other people for her bad
parenting that contributed to bringing up two misbehaved boys, than it
is to take responsibility for them. She’s probably the negative example
to her kids, turning out delinquents like this who wreak havoc in
society, and she’s more likely the reason there needs to be a right for
one to defend themselves.
