Schapelle Corby caught in Bali 'boyfriend's' drug case

An Indonesian man rumoured to be Schapelle Corby's boyfriend has been interrogated about his links to the Australian drug smuggler after owning up to marijuana possession.
Ben Panangian was questioned repeatedly about his relationship with Corby during his trial this week, the Sydney Morning Herald reports.
Mr Panangian denied being anything more than a friend, despite having a widely publicised romance with Corby when the pair were in prison together a number of years ago.
Panangian faces a maximum sentence of 12 years in prison after throwing away a package of marijuana when approached by police in August.
Police later found more marijuana in a search of his house.
After officers finished laying out their evidence, judge Anom Wirakanta reportedly asked whether they had investigated Panangian's alleged links to foreigners.
"Did police find a link to any foreigners? … I ask because I heard he had a link to Corby - was that investigated?"
Police said they only investigated the facts of the case.
Panangian insisted the drugs were for personal use.
He told head judge Beslin Sihombing the police summary of facts was correct.
Mr Anom then asked Panangian about his relationship with Corby.
"I know her just as a friend," he said.
Corby and Panangian were often seen holding hands and kissing in the visitor's area of Kerobokan prison.
They have also often been seen together outside the prison since Corby's release on parole in February.
