Otara shooting: Suspect should not be approached - police

Police say the man they are hunting over a shooting incident in Otara yesterday morning is considered dangerous and should not be approached.

Police are looking for Corey Jermaine Anderson, 23, after a 28-year-old man was shot in the stomach in the South Auckland suburb yesterday.

The victim is in a stable condition in hospital.

Detective Senior Sergeant Kevin Tiernan said police considered Mr Anderson to be dangerous and he should not be approached by the public.

Anyone with information on Mr Anderson have been asked to contact police.

Mr Tiernan said the investigation was ongoing, with "strong lines of enquiry being followed".
