Saudi Arabian authorities on Friday released a Qatari citizen after one year of detention, keeping three others in custody.
The National Qatari Committee for Human Rights confirmed that the Qatari citizen released was Ahmad Khalid Miqbel, Al Khaleej Online reported. He had spent one year in arbitrary detention.
Head of the committee, Ali Al-Murri, wrote on Twitter: “We received the reports of releasing the Qatari citizen, who was arbitrarily detained by Saudi authorities, happily. We contacted his family and they confirmed his release.”
Miqbel was one of four Qatari citizens illegally detained in June 2017, when the Saudi, Bahraini, Emirati and Egyptian blockade was first imposed on Qatar.
