The books are the basis for Starz's romantic drama Outlander, starring Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan. It is now in its fourth season.
The show follows Balfe's heroine Claire, a former World War II nurse who is magically transported to 18th century Scotland where she falls in love with Heughan's Jamie, a Highlands warrior.
