Sandra Lee hosted an intimate screening of her HBO documentary, “Rx: Early Detection, A Cancer Journey,” for guests including Billy Joel, Katie Couric, Rosanna Scotto, Joan Lunden, Lee’s boyfriend Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Kathy Bates, who also executive-produced the project.
After the film and a talk by Lee and Bates, “there wasn’t a dry eye in the theater,” a guest said. But Cuomo “lightened the mood when he joked that he had ‘no editing control’ over the doc, and his only gripe was the number of camera shots that included his bald spot.”
At a reception, Dr. Oz cornered Cuomo and Joel in the men’s room to shoot impromptu videos, which he rolled during Lee’s appearance on his show the next day.
