Instead of seeing "wanted" posters in the post office, you can find them on your smartphone now.

The FBI is asking everyone to download the Wanted app (iOS, Android) according to ABC Action News 13 in Las Vegas. Authorities said that the app can useful to help track down criminals.
"The FBI needs to be where the people are, and that's on social media," Sandra Breault with the FBI Las Vegas told ABC Action News 13. "It's not just on Twitter or Facebook, but through these interactive apps that you can actually reach out to the FBI directly."
In the app, you can search your city to find a missing person's or suspect's profile. A profile lists the suspect's name, alias, location, and other descriptive information.
After you download the app, you can scroll through profile summaries and tap on a photo to read more to see the full profile. You can tap the photo in the full profile to enlarge it. Profiles can be saved to a bookmarks page for future reference.
There are filters for dates, FBI field office, status, or crime category. You can contact the FBI via a message in the app to give information.
Turning to the public has generated positive results for catching criminals for decades. The popular television program America's Most Wanted helped catch more than 1,000 fugitives with audience tips.
The Unsolved Mysteries show also has helped solve cases, find people, and bring criminals to justice. Though the show doesn't run anymore, cases featured on the show are still being solved.
It's possible the FBI's request to download the app is related to the mysterious packages being discovered across the US this week.
