Four people are feared dead and others are critically injured in a horror crash near Waverley.Emergency services were called to the scene of a two-car crash near Waverley Racecourse on State Highway 3.
Police said there were believed to be "multiple casualties" involved in the crash near Ihupuku Road at 11.11am.
"The road is closed and motorists are being advised to expect signifcant delays. Diversions are in place."
Cars are being diverted off State Highway 3 down Ihupuku Road near Waverley racecourse.
A local woman leaving work 500 metres from the accident scene described it as a mess.
She said it looked like a vehicle has crossed the centre line and collided head-on with another vehicle.
The road was wet and slippery, she said.
A staff member at Waverley Four Square said there was a big frost this morning and the roads were still slippery late morning.
