As we noted before, the Mi 8’s highlight feature will be one you can’t see: an in-display fingerprint sensor. The other bullet point specs will include 3D facial recognition, a 4,000mAh battery with Quick Charge capabilities, a Snapdragon 845 chipset with 8GB of RAM, and a full-screen 6-inch display.
Here’s a brief clip that shows off the in-display unlocking feature.
Vivo was first to market with an in-display fingerprint sensor, but Xiaomi isn’t too far behind. The Xiaomi Mi 6 — the Mi 8’s predecessor — retailed for around $360 when it launched, so hopefully the new phone will be close in terms of pricing.
