An Adelaide man who was drunk when he killed a friend in a car crash has been sentenced to more than two years in jail.

Zak Mark Anderton, 34, faced the South Australian District Court on Thursday after pleading guilty to causing the death of 29-year-old Ryan English by dangerous driving last year.
Judge Jack Costello sentenced Anderton to two years, seven months in jail, with a non-parole period of two years, two days.
