An Argentinian football match ended in tragic circumstances after a young footballer murdered referee Cesar Flores by shooting him three times.
The incident happened in the Cordoba district of Argentina after Flores showed the footballer, who is still on the run from police, a straight red card earlier in the match after he hit one of the opposition.
Police have confirmed that the assailant, who shot 48-year-old Cesar Flores three times with confirmed shots to the head, neck and chest, also shot targeted another footballer and shot 25-year-old Walter Zarate, though he is not thought to be in a critical condition.
‘It all happened during the match,’ said a police spokesman. ‘We don’t know what happened with the referee but the player was angry and went to get his gun and killed him.’
The unnamed killer, who had the weapon inside his backpack, is now the subject of a manhunt.
