It goes without saying, the tensions between black supremacy
groups and the police are on the rise. These hateful thugs have been
inciting violence, and as reported by Mad World News, black
militants have said it is “open season” on murdering white people and
cops. The obvious lack of leadership in America is apparent, as racial
tensions mount and the president of our country is silent while the
American people look for answers.
However, even though there is fear and anxiety over this
apparent call for violence, there are those who are offering hope and
support to law enforcement. Texas Governor Greg Abbot stepped up the
plate Thursday, urging all police officers and civilians to honor the
slain Deputy Darren Goforth with a simple gesture.
The Governor asks that all law enforcement members across
the state turn on their emergency lights for one minute to mark the
beginning of the deputy’s funeral. Civilians are also requested to do
the same by turning on their headlights and emergency lights at the
designated time to show support for the Goforth family.
According to Governor Greg Abbot’s press release, he calls for the following:
WHO: All Law Enforcement OfficersWHAT: Law Enforcement Patrol Cars Turn On Red And Blue Flashing LightsWHEN: Friday, September 4th, 11:00 A.M. Central Time
Governor Abbott said in a statement, “Respect and pride in
our law enforcement must be restored in this state and nation, it is
time to unite in solidarity to support the men and women who serve and
protect our communities. I ask that communities across Texas support
this cause for unity and remember the essential role that law
enforcement plays in keeping Texas safe and strong.”
Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick also echoed Abbott’s call
for honoring the fallen deputy, saying, “I challenge all Texans to think
about how underappreciated our officers must feel, how dangerous their
jobs are, how they leave their families every day not knowing if they
are coming home and more importantly, if there is anything you can do to
help make their job a little easier.”
The Lt. Governor also suggests these simple acts of kidness to show support for law enforcement:
- Start calling our officers sir and ma’am all of the time. It’s a show of respect they deserve
- Every time you see an officer anywhere, let them know you appreciate their service to our community and you stand with them
- If you are financially able, when you see them in a restaurant on duty pick up their lunch check, send over a dessert, or simply stop by their table briefly and say thank you for their service
- Put their charities on your giving list
- If your local law enforcement has volunteer-citizen job opportunities, sign up
I hope that we all can show our support by heading this
simple call to action. If across the country we can all turn our lights
on to show support to our law enforcement officials and not back down to
these thugs that are only calling for more hate, we can beat back the
tides of violence. I challenge all Americans to act on these simple acts
of kindness to show our support and respect to those who lay their
lives on the line every day, since all lives matter.
