Travel into the distant future of fan-favorite multiplayer map Nuk3town in the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops III.
Nuk3town (pronounced Nuketown) comes as a free in-box download code for players who pre-order the game for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
Following its debut in the original Call of Duty: Black Ops,
and a return in Black Ops II as Nuketown 2025, the latest version "once
again delivers quick-hitting action … but now reimagined for a new
generation of play styles," according to a news release.
"The Nuketown maps have a special place in Call of Duty
multiplayer history and we can't wait to build upon that heritage in
Black Ops III," Treyarch studio head Mark Lamia said in a statement.
"We carefully adapted the design of the map to make sure
that it fit with our new movement system, but to also make sure that we
retained the spirit and the fun that made fans fall in love with it in
the first place," Lamia added.
Due out Nov. 6,
Activision's Black Ops III sets gamers in a gritty future where
cybernetics and biotech have bred a new type of soldier. Players step
inside the mind of an interconnected commando, ready to guide users
through a new four-player co-op campaign and redesigned multiplayer
experience.
Game developers Treyarch added a new weapon customisation
system, as well as the Specialist system to choose and rank nine Black
Ops troopers. The studio's signature Zombies also return, featuring the voice and likeness of Jeff Goldblum, Heather Graham, Neal McDonough, Ron Perlman, and Robert Picardo.
A five-day PlayStation 4 beta program ran late last month, from Aug. 19 to 23.
