Australian TV host Karl Stefanovic, has been wearing the SAME SUIT EVERY DAY FOR AN ENTIRE YEAR on air, and guess what? NOBODY noticed, until HE pointed it out. The Today show co-host wore the exact same fake Burberry suit to prove a point about the double standards women face, especially in the television industry.
Seattle TV personality, Michelle Millman, discussed with her fans on Facebook how Karl's experiment sparked A LOT of conversation at KIRO 7 Eyewitness News today! Fellow news anchor, Alexis Smith admitted she got an email from a viewer who called her an aging Barbie! Millman said she had gotten emails with things like, "didn't you wear that dress 2 weeks ago!?" adding that, "Guys...they don't hear it. AT. ALL."
Karl Stefanovic told Fairfax Media,
“I’m judged on my interviews, my appalling sense of humor – on how I do my job, basically. Whereas women (in the broadcast industry) are quite often judged on what they’re wearing or how their hair is.”
