The new version of Grand Theft Auto V has turned a video game into an outlet for sexually psychotic behavior as it allows players a ‘first person’ experience of having sex with a prostitute, then brutally killing her to get your money back.
Although Grand Theft Auto has always pushed the limits of decency, this latest installment of the series has gone a bit too far by enabling players to have full control over the sexual experience and subsequent murder, without the modesty protection of a well placed car door and creative camera angle. What could possibly be entertaining about acting out violent fantasies in explicit detail like this? It seems there would be a great potential for the game to grow into an obsession while desensitizing the player to violent behavior, altering their view of women and human life in general.

However, University of Buffalo professor Matthew Grizzard disagrees that virtually simulating these acts will turn a good person bad. Grizzard even goes as far to say that the effect would be opposite and positive, making players more ethical, by increasing their sensitivity to and awareness of moral issues, according to Breitbart.
“Our findings suggest that emotional experiences evoked by media exposure can increase the intuitive foundations upon which human beings make moral judgments,” Grizzard said. “This is particularly relevant for video-game play, where habitual engagement with that media is the norm for a small, but considerably important group of users.”

Grizzard seems a little out of his… gizzard.

Players having sex with prostitutes as she moans and says some very X-rated things will certainly increase sensitivities, but not in the way Grizzard suggests. Especially considering the user can then gruesomely kill her.

Using sex and violence to increase sales has unfortunately been positive on profits for Rockstar Games, the makers of Grand Theft Auto, which is the best-selling game of all time. The last game released made the company a billion dollars in just three days, according to the Daily Mail.

The general depravity in this game and the number of sales it gets is demonstrative of where the moral mindset is of far too many people.
