The Ferguson Grand Jury’s decision was made public Monday evening, ruling in favor of Officer Darren Wilson. The announcement made by officials during the press conference revealed that the police officer who fatally shot teen Michael Brown will not be indicted in the case. “The jury was not inclined to indict on any charges,” said Benjamin Crump, an attorney for the Brown family, according to USA Today. Attorneys for the Brown family received a call from St. Louis County prosecutor Robert McCulloch shortly before the televised announcement.

Additionally, protesters also threatened a full-fledged race war if Wilson was not indicted, from groups all over the country.
Despite your feelings on the decision to not indict the police officer, we should all take a moment to pray for peace. With all the other atrocities going on in the world, it is truly a shame that we are turning on each other in our own country based on racial division instead of uniting as Americans.
