Tony Pulis has praised West Brom's second half performance to secure a surprising point against a "fantastic" Totteham side on Monday night (25 April). The boss, meanwhile, claimed that Ben Foster and Berahino missed the trip to White Hart Lane due to injuries but expressed hopes to have the striker back for the weekend game with West Ham.
The Baggies arrived at White Hart Lane on the back of three consecutive defeats to Manchester City, Watford and Arsenal. With Tottenham needing to secure the three points to close the gap to Leicester on the top of the table, it looked West Brom were ready for another loss after Craig Dawson put Spurs in front with an own goal in the 33th minute of the game.
However, Dawson himself made amends in the second half by heading the equaliser to rescue a point for his side and dent Tottenham hopes to win the Premier League title.
"I thought the first half we were on the back foot, as we played at Arsenal. We were much better second half.
But Spurs are a fantastic side," Pulis said.
"Tottenham have had to play a lot of games on Thursdays and Sundays — so for them to be where they are is a fantastic achievement. I'm just pleased that we showed what we can do after the break.
"We have done well in games at Chelsea, Liverpool, Leicester ... Arsenal was the only one we didn't play well in.
We have played a good side, who have real quality and done well."
The manager, meanwhile, claimed that Foster and Berhino failed to make the trip to North London due ankle problems. Yet, the boss rules out major concerns for the duo, claiming that the forward could return to action for the next game with the Hammers.
"Ben didn't feel his injury during the game but his ankle was swollen the next day," Pulis claimed. "The same with Saido. He felt a tweak around the back of his left ankle so we didn't take a risk with him."
"We hope Saido will be fit for Saturday but we're not sure Ben will make it."
