It
seems that Samsung’s Galaxy Note 6 has recently caught the attention of
all, with leaked specs and details surfacing on a regular basis. The
latest comes from China’s micro-blogging site Weibo which recently reported some details on the specs. However, nothing has been officially confirmed, we can only speculate at this point.
According to the leak, Galaxy Note 6
will come with a 5.77-inch screen, supporting a resolution of up to 1440
x 2560. The unit will be powered by a 4,200 mAh battery, enough for at
least 48 hours of battery life, depending on the usage.
Internal memory is set to reach
256GB, providing plenty of space for storing apps and media files. A
Snapdragon 823 chipset will be integrated and coupled with 6GB of RAM, a
major improvement even compared to the Galaxy S7 series, which sports
only 4GB.
Due to the IP68 certification, Galaxy
Note 6 will be coming with protection from water and dust, which is
already the norm on flagship phones and will soon be available on more
handsets, as manufacturers continue to push toward improvement and
innovation.
USB Type-C ports coming to the Galaxy Note 6
It has yet to be confirmed whether
Samsung will be launching two variants of the Galaxy Note 6, one with a
curved screen and the other with an ordinary display. Considering its
success with Galaxy S7, it’s likely that the Note 6 will also have two
versions.
The latest rumors suggest that the
flagship phablet will come with an improved primary camera that supports
IR autofocus, as previous Note versions could have used an improvement
in this department. Reportedly, the device will also be featuring an
iris scanner aside from the fingerprint sensor for authenticating users.
Samsung has decided to join the group of other major manufacturers who will be implementing USB Type-C ports
on their handsets. However, it’s not yet certain whether the port will
be USB 3.1 or an older version. Considering the screen display change
and the upgraded port, it’s highly likely that Samsung is also working
on a new Gear VR to go with the Galaxy Note 6.
