A mysterious Motorola device bearing model number XT1650 has just made an appearance at Geekbench. The model number of the device hints it could be Motorola's 2016 Moto X series flagship.
According to the Geekbench listing, the handset runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. It is powered with a Snapdragon 820 chip featuring a quad-core processor with a clock speed of 1.59GHz, while coupled with 4GB RAM. It scored 2309 points in single-core performance, and 5344 in multi-core. The screenshot of the Geekbench listing was first spotted by MobiPicker.
In comparison, the Moto X Style sports a 5.7in screen with resolution at 1440 x 2560 pixels. It is powered with a Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor, while paired with 3GB RAM. There is a 21 megapixel rear camera and a five megapixel front facing camera. It uses a 3,000mAh battery.
It is likely that Motorola would make an announcement about the handset on 9 June. Recently, Lenovo announced its Zuk Z2 Pro in Beijing. Along with this, Lenovo chief executive officer Yang Yuanqing said Motorola would launch a new device on 9 June, without providing any details about the product. He was quoted as saying that the product would be nothing less than exciting.
The next-gen Moto X is not the only product in Motorola's production lineup. The company is working on two new handsets — Moto G4 and G4 Plus. A hands-on video for the device has even leaked showing the design of the device. It might come with a metal frame and fingerprint sensor built into the home button.
